Where were you?
That day in Spetember
That day that the world changed your heart Where were you?
The sky was blue. The future was clear.
You biked to class early in the morning, air was crisp-coffee balanced in hand
You were doing your favorite thing when you heard...
Daydreaming of the French cafe you wrote in- Daydreaming of a world that was wide open and romantic
Developing the black & white snapshots of your semester abroad in Europe
Then the photography teacher came in, stunned, having refilled his coffe in the teacher lounge
"Drop what you're doing. Something terrible's happened."
Students gathering, staring wide-eyed up at the TV's mounted on the walls of the Shriver center
Then... A plane hit the second tower. Everything was chaos and quiet at the same time.
The fear crept in. THIS was not an accident.
Where were you?
"Evacuate the campus now." And, light a candle. And, say a prayer. Call your loved ones. Watch the horror unfolding...
Towers fell. Dust rose. NY's finest. A plane in a field. Children without parents. Heoric stories. A plane into the Pentagon.
You graduated that spring, and moved to NYC
Ash still showering down with the rain.
And 1 year after that day, you heard the haunting bagpipes at 5 am on 6th Ave.
And 10 years later, still feels new.
That day in Spetember
That day that the world changed your heart Where were you?
